DIAGNOSTICS
OFFLINE DIAGNOSTICS
A third 1186 boot option uses offline boot
diagnosti.cs. These offline diagnostic tests may be
oerformed when vour 1186 is not runnina Lisn Thp
offline diagnostic tests can -be run, one -b-y- ~o~ne~
upon selection of the appropriate test from a
diagnostics menu. The procedure requires the
following floppy disks:
Offline Diagnostics Disk # 1
Offline Diagnostics Disk #2
Loading Offline Diagnostics From Floppy Disk
1. Press the B Reset button on the processor.
2. Insert Offline Diagnostics Disk #1 in the floppy
drive.
Boot icons should appear across the bottom of
you r screen.
3. Press the F2 key on your keyboard when the icons
appear.
A small window with numbers cycling through it
will appear in the top left corner of your screen.
When the number cycle reaches 0990 a new
window will appear, with the word RUNNING, in
the upper left corner of the window. This
indicates that the Diagnostics Disk # 1 is being
loaded.
The following message is displayed when Disk
#
1
has been loaded:
Please insert second diagnostic floppy disk. Is
the floppy disk ready? Y
4. Remove Disk # 1 and insert Offline Diagnostics
Disk #2 into the floppy drive in response to this
message. Press the

key. The
following message appears on your screen:
Loading diagnostics from the second floppy
disk ....
