4. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
This chapter describes the initial software
installation and the 1186 rigid disk file system.
Installing Lisp on the 1186 Workstation
The procedures described in this section
supplement the installation software's on-line
script. If you run into a problem, refer to the section
titled Troubleshooting for Lisp Installation.
Read the information before each procedure to
find out what conditions should exist before you
start (Prerequisites)' when that procedure should be
performed (Usage), things to watch out for
(Warning), and what you should do before starting
the procedure (Special Instructions.)
This is a step-by-step guide to installing the System·
Tools and Lisp on your local disk. For a
comprehensive discussion of the System Tools
please refer to chapter 5, System Tools.
