Step 9 – Ground the System
If you are not using WEEB grounding washers to ground the microinverter chassis, follow the steps below.

Each Enphase Microinverter comes with a grounding clip that can accommodate a 6-8 AWG conductor.
NOTE: The AC output neutral is not bonded to ground inside the microinverter.
a . Route a continuous GEC through each of the microinverters to the NEC-approved AC
grounding electrode.
b . You can ground the PV racking and PV module to this conductor
using a crimp connection. An alternative method is to connect
the microinverter to the grounded racking using a
grounding washer approved for the racking.
c . Torque the microinverter fasteners to the values below.

NOTE: Using a power screwdriver to tighten the grounding clamp screw is not
recommended due to the risk of thread galling.

6 mm (1/4") mounting hardware – 5 N m (45 in-lbs) minimum
8 mm (5/16") mounting hardware – 9 N m (80 in-lbs) minimum
