5. Thermo switch
S Remove the thermo switch from the thermo-
stat housing.
S Connect the pocket tester (Ω
thermo switch as shown.

S Immerse the thermo switch in a container
filled with coolant

S Place a thermometer
S Slowly heat the coolant, then let it cool down
to the specified temperature.
S Check the thermo switch for continuity at
the temperaures indicated below.

shocks.
If the thermo switch is dropped, replace it.

socket
S Check the engine overheat indicator light
bulb and socket for continuity.
S Are the engine overheat indicator light bulb
and socket OK?
YES
