CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE STEERING HEAD

CHANGING THE FINAL DRIVE OIL/

4. Install:
S final drive housing oil drain bolt
5. Fill:
S final drive housing
(with the specified amount of the recom-
mended final drive oil)

Refer to "CHECKING THE FINAL DRIVE
OIL LEVEL".

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE STEER-
ING HEAD
1. Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
WARNING
Securely support the motorcycle so that
there is no danger of it falling over.
NOTE:
Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand so that
the front wheel is elevated.
2. Check:
S steering head
Grasp the bottom of the front fork legs and
gently rock the front fork.
Looseness or binding ! Adjust the steering
head.
3. Remove:
S front cowling
Refer to "FRONT COWLING".
4. Remove:
S handlebar 1
5. Loosen
S upper bracket pinch bolts 1
6. Remove
S steering stem nut 2
S upper bracket 3

23 Nm (2.3 mSkg)
