SATA Configuration
When this submenu is selected, the AMI BIOS automatically detects the presence of IDE or
SATA devices and displays the following items
SATA Port0~SATA Port5
The AMI BIOS displays the status of each SATA port as detected by the BIOS.
SATA Mode
Use this feature to configure SATA mode for a selected SATA port. The options are
Disabled, IDE Mode, AHCI Mode and RAID Mode. The following are displayed depending on
your selection:
o IDE Mode
Use this feature to configure SATA mode for a selected SATA port. The options
are Disabled, IDE Mode, AHCI Mode and RAID Mode. The following are displayed
depending on your selection:
Serial-ATA (SATA) Controller 0~1
o AHCI Mode
The following items are displayed when the AHCI Mode is selected:
Aggressive Link Power Management
Port 0~5 Hot Plug
Staggered Spin Up
o RAID Mode
The following items are displayed when RAID Mode is selected:
Port 0~5 Hot Plug
Use this feature to activate or deactivate the SATA controller, and set the
compatibility mode. The options are Enhanced and Compatible. The default
for SATA controller 0 is Compatible. The default for SATA controller 1 is
Enhanced.
When Enabled, the SATA AHCI controller manages the power usage of the
SATA link. The controller will put the link in a low power mode during
extended periods of I/O inactivity, and will return the link to an active state
when I/O activity resumes. The options are Enabled and Disabled
Select Enabled to enable hot-plug support for a particular port, which will
allow the user to change a hardware component or device without shutting
down the system. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Select Enabled to enable Staggered Spin-up support to prevent excessive
power consumption caused by multiple HDDs spinning-up simultaneously.
The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Select Enabled to enable hot-plug support for the particular port. The
options are Enabled and Disabled
