"C11" (P0340) CMP SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

DETECTED CONDITION
The signal does not reach ECM for 3 sec. or more,
after receiving the starter signal.
CMP sensor
When using the multi-circuit tester, do not strongly touch the terminal of the ECM coupler with
a needle pointed tester probe to prevent the terminal damage or terminal bend.
INSPECTION
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Lift and support the fuel tank. ( 5-3)
3) Remove the air cleaner box. ( 5-14)
4) Check the CMP sensor coupler
If OK, remove the CMP sensor. ( 3-29)
5) Connect 3 new 1.5 V batteries in series, 1 kΩ resistor and the
multi-circuit tester as shown in the illustration.

• CMP sensor circuit open or short
• CMP sensor malfunction
• ECM malfunction
