Horizontal keystone correction
Horizontal keystone correction is performed as illustrated in the figure below.
(Vertical keystone correction is done in the preceding CVIC.)
Convergence adjustment
By delaying the video signal in a single pixel unit individually for RGB, the horizontal display position can be relo-
cated in the reverse direction of convergence deviation. Thus, the horizontal deviation of more than one dot can be
reduced to less than one dot. The vertical convergence adjustment is done by regulating the vertical control signals
of LCD panel individually for each RGB components.
Color irregularity correction
Refer to the descriptions in 4-5. Color irregularity correction.
Horizontal gray mask control out of LCD display range
The circuit works to prevent the generation of vertical stripes at right and left ends on LCD display screen. These
stripes are known to be caused by the drive noise of LCD panel and can be reduced by inputting video signal or
gray signal in the area out of LCD panel display range. Since video image production is not allowed, the gray signal
is outputted instead at right and left sides in the area out of LCD display range as a simple countermeasure.
Sync control
The circuit controls input H/V sync signals (HI/HV) and input clock (CLK21) to transmit them to each internal block.
Timing generator
Generates the control signals for LCD panel and S/H-IC.
CPU interface
Decodes address/data from external CPU and reads/writes the register settings in each block.
