Queues

A queue is a storage area for print jobs. Queues are particularly useful when many
print jobs are being sent to the Fiery X2. When a job is printed to a Fiery X2 queue, it
is stored on the Fiery X2 hard disk rather than the user's hard disk, quickly freeing up
the user's workstation.
Remote users can print only to published connections. However, job storage areas for
all queues exist on the server, so that administrators or other users of the
Fiery WebSpooler can move or copy jobs to the Print or Hold queue, whether or not
these queues are published.
The Fiery X2 hard disk supports up to three queues (Print, Hold, and Printed). Users
may print to two of them (Print and Hold).

Because the Hold queue is a storage place for jobs, it requires intervention on the
part of an administrator or operator. In order to print a job in the Hold queue, the
job has to be moved or copied from the Hold queue to the Print queue. Printing and
deleting jobs from the Hold queue requires Fiery Spooler or Fiery WebSpooler.

Printed queue
tains the most recent jobs printed from the Print queue. The Printed queue makes it
convenient to reprint those jobs. A Server Setup option enables this queue and gov-
erns the maximum number of jobs retained in it at any given time (see page 2–9).
Reprinting jobs in this queue requires Fiery Spooler or Fiery WebSpooler.
