When set in ANSWER mode, the SFX-21 O (and an extension telephone connected to the
SFX-21 O through the line plug) rings 3 times* or according to the Toll Saver setting of the
built-in answering system if you have turned on this feature. (See pages 59-60 for Toll
Saver ring count setting.) Then, if the call is not answered, the line connects and the built-in
answering system sends your greeting to the caller.
When a call arrives:
1. The SFX-21 O (and an extension telephone connected to the SFX-21 O through the line plug)
rings 3 times*.
*The number of rings is user-selectable. Use the feature switch No. 07 to change the number.

The ring delay counts in the Answer mode should be left as factory set or if changed should 9
only beset between 2 rings and 5 rings to ensure ongoing compliance with Telecom
specifications for this Telepermitted equipment.

If no voice is heard for 6 seconds after the beep following your greeting, the
SFX-21 O automatically switches over to the fax receiving mode and sends a
fax tone to the caller.

handset or press [<-] key. Recording stops.
