Auto reception mode
When an automatically transmitted fax is received:
Incoming
faxes that are automatically
transmitted
are received
automatically.
When a voice call or manually transmitted fax is received:
A voice call or manual fax transmission
is automatically
connected
to the line and the built-in
voice response
answers the caller. (The voice response can be turned off. See note 1 below.)
Here's what happens when a voice call or manual fax transmission
is received:
Incoming
call.
The built-in telephone
and connected
extension
phone both ring.
As soon as the line is connected
(see note 2), the voice response
1 is heard.

"Please
wait for a moment".
After this voice response,
the SFX-30 can receive a fax. If the caller does not start fax transmission

is not picked up, the SFX-30 continues
to ring 7 more times. Voice response 2 is heard.

"No one is here now, however if you wish to send a fax, please transmit
at the tone."
The SFX-30 automatically
switches
to the fax receiving
mode, and fax reception
starts.

Using the feature switch No. 16, you can switch the voice response
on or off. (See page 60.) If this switch is
set to 00, no voice response will be heard.

Once connected
to the line, the caller is billed for the call.

The number of simulated
rings that sound after the line is connected
and the first voice response
is heard
can be changed
to no rings (position
00) or any odd number between
3 – 11 rings. Use the feature switch
No. 09 (page 60.)
(If this switch is set to 00, no voice response will be heard.)
IMPORTANT
If you connect
an answering
machine to the SFX-30, do not select the auto reception
mode unless
the answering
machine
is set to ring longer than the SFX-30. Select the answer reception
mode. (page 31.)
