Distinctive ring select
(for New Zealand)
The SFX-I 10/21 O is compatible with the distinctive ring service offered by the telephone
companies.
Wkh this service, a single telephone line can be assigned 4 different numbers,
'
each with a different ringing sequence.
(The SFX-1 10/21 O can recognize up to 4 different
ringing sequences.)
Using the feature switch No. 56, you can make the SFX-1 10/21 O recognize a particular ringing
sequence (a number) as fax call and others as phone calls.
To set the feature switch No. 56:
1. Press [MENU] 4 times.
2. Press [SET1.
3. Press [MENU] twice.
4. Press [SET1.
5. Press [5], [6].
6. Press [SET1.
7. Enter the code for the number you want to use as your fax number. (See page 80.)

8. Press [SET1.
9. Press [STOP] twice to complete setting.

When the reception mode is set to AUTO or MANUAL:
When a call arrives to the selected fax number, the SFX-1 10/21 O automatically switches into
fax reception mode after 3 rings.
When a call arrives to other numbers, the SFX-1 10/21 O rings but will not receive a fax.
When the reception mode is set to ANSWER:
When a call arrives to the selected fax number, the SFX-1 10/21 O automatically switches into
fax reception mode after 3 rings.
When a call arrives to other numbers:

It is directed to the built-in answering system after the SFX-21 O rings 3 times or more as per
the setting of the feature switch No. 07.
The toll saver feature switch setting overrides the feature switch No. 07. See pages 59-60
for the details of toll saver feature.
It is directed to the connected answering machine after the SFX-110 rings according to the
ring delay setting of your answering machine.
