BRAKE DISC INSPECTION

• Remove the front and rear wheels. (! 5-9 and -28)
Check the brake disc for damage or cracks. Measure the
thickness using the micrometer.
Replace the brake disc if the thickness is less than the service
limit or if damage is found.
% 09900-20205: Micrometer (0 – 25 mm)
$ Brake disc thickness
Service Limit (front) : 4.0 mm (0.16 in)
(rear) : 4.5 mm (0.18 in)
Measure the runout using the dial gauge.
Replace the disc if the runout exceeds the service limit.
% 09900-20606: Dial gauge (1/100 mm)
09900-20701: Magnetic stand
$ Brake disc runout
Service Limit (front and rear): 0.3 mm (0.012 in)

BRAKE DISC REMOVAL AND REMOUNTING

• Remove the front and rear wheels. (! 5-9 and -28)
• Remove the front and rear brake discs.
When remounting the brake discs, pay attention to the following
points:
• Set the L (left) and R (right) mark on the front brake disc to the
same side of the front wheel.
• Make sure that the brake discs are clean and free of any grease.
Apply THREAD LOCK SUPER "1360" to the brake disc bolts
and tighten them to the specified torque.
* 99000-32130: THREAD LOCK SUPER "1360"
" Brake disc bolts: 23 N . m (2.3 kgf . m, 16.5 lb-ft)
