D. Sight Glass Installation
(Ref. Figure 409)
(1). Install sight glass () between tubes ().
(2). Torque the captive nuts of tubes 230 to
260 in-lb (25.99 to 29.37 Nm).
The receiver dehydrator must
CAUTION
be replaced each time the com­
pressor is removed, or the AC system is
opened. An early failure of the compressor
can occur.
(3). Remove and replace receiver dehydra­
tor (26) (ref. Procedure 22.).
(4). Service AC system (ref. Section
12-00-00).
(5). Install Access Panel L155 (ref. Section
53-30-00).
E. Sight Glass to Mid−Section Tube
Removal
(Ref. Figure 409)
(1). Remove Access Panel L155 (ref. Section
53-30-00).
(2). Evacuate AC system (ref. Section
12-00-00).
(3). Disconnect tube (43) from sight glass
(41) and union (8).
(4). Remove screws (3), washers (2), clamps
(1), washer (2), nut (5), and tube (43).
F. Sight Glass to Mid−Section Tube
Installation
(Ref. Figure 409)
(1). Connect tube to sight glass and union.
(2). Install screws, washers, clamps, and
nut.
(a). Torque screws.
(3). Torque captive nuts of tube 230 to 260
in-lb (25.99 to 29.38 Nm).

(3). Disconnect tube (44) from union (8) and
receiver dehydrator (26).
(4). Remove tube.
H. Mid−Section to Receiver Dehydrator
Tube Installation
