Feeding the original
The original can be fed in either of the following two ways. Be sure to position the original correctly according
to the type of original being copied.

Loading the original into the ADF

The ADF is an option.

Do not load originals that are bound together, for example, with paper clips or staples.

Slide the lateral guides to fit the size of the original.

Place the original in the original feed tray in the order to
be scanned with the side to be scanned faces up.

Load the original pages so that the top of the original
is toward the back or the right side of the machine.

Features
By using the ADF, a multi-page original can be fed automatically, one page at a
time. This feed method can also be used to automatically scan double-sided orig-
inals.
Place the original directly on the original glass so that it can be scanned. This
method is best with books and other originals that cannot be fed through the ADF.
