Energy Saver Mode

Use Energy Saver options to conserve power, and set how long the printer remains idle before changing
modes. Ready mode is where the printer is at full power. Low Power mode is where power to the fuser
and other areas are turned off. Sleep mode is the lowest power state the printer can obtain without
shutting off.

Setting Energy Saver Mode

In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties>General Setup.
Click Energy Saver.

Specify how long the printer remains idle before it goes from ready mode to low-power mode.

Specify how long the printer remains idle before automatically going from low-power mode to sleep
mode.
To allow the printer to poll Novell print queues, select Resume Network Controller Briefly to Poll

To enter the Poll Interval, use the arrow buttons or type a time in minutes and seconds.

To allow the printer to broadcast SAP during sleep mode, select Resume Network Controller Briefly
to Broadcast Service Advertising Protocol (SAP) During Sleep Mode.

To enter the SAP Interval, use the arrow buttons or type a time in hours, minutes, and seconds.
Click Apply.

Setting the Energy Saver Mode at the Control Panel
Press the Machine Status button, then touch the Tools tab.

Touch Device Settings>General>Energy Saver.

To specify the time that the printer waits before it enters Standby Mode and Sleep Mode, touch
Energy Saver Timer.

Specify how long the printer remains idle before automatically going from standby mode to
low-power mode.

Specify how long the printer remains idle before automatically going from low-power mode to sleep
mode.
Touch Save.

Note:
To enter Energy Saver Mode when the printer is in Ready Mode, press the Power Saver button.
When the printer is in Energy Saver Mode, the control panel screen is dark and the Power Saver
button is illuminated. The printer exits Energy Saver mode when it receives a print job, or when you
press the Power Saver button.
