SMS (text messages)
Your device is delivered ready to send SMS messages as soon as the phone is
connected to the fixed line network. If you do not specify any settings the SMS
messages are sent via the fixed line network.
Preconditions:
u
Calling Line Identification is enabled.
u
Your fixed line network/VoIP provider supports the SMS service (information
on this is available from your network provider).
u
You are registered with your SMS service provider to send and receive SMS
messages.
SMS messages are exchanged between SMS centres operated by service pro-
viders. You must enter the SMS centre through which you wish to send and
receive SMS messages into your phone. You can receive SMS messages from
every SMS centre that is entered (maximum of four), provided you have regis-
tered with your service provider. Generally, all you have to do is send one SMS
via the service provider SMS centre.
Your SMS messages are sent via the SMS centre that is entered as the active
send service centre. However, you can activate any other SMS centre as the
active send service centre to send a current message (

You can receive SMS messages via each of your fixed line network and VoIP
connections.
If no SMS service centre is entered, the SMS menu only contains the entry

Each incoming SMS is signalled by a single ring (ringer as for external calls).
If you accept such a "call", the SMS will be lost. To prevent this ring, suppress
the first ringer for all external calls (
