OIL FILTER BYPASS VALVE

R Remove or Disconnect (Figure 32)
1. Oil filter.
j Inspect
• Bypass valve spring and valve disc for proper
operation, cracks, and damage. If replacement
is needed, the oil filter bypass valve (93) must
be replaced, as follows:
7.4 LITER V8 6A5-19
2. Bolts (94).
3. Oil filter bypass valve.
jj Clean
• Valve chamber in the block.
B
Install or Connect (Figure 32)
1. New oil filter bypass valve (93).
2. Bolts (94).
I c i l Tighten
• Bolts (94) to 27 N-m (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Oil filter.
4. Engine oil, as needed.

MAIN BEARING REPLACEMENT

M Remove or Disconnect (Figure 33)
Tool Required:
J 8080 Main Bearing Remover/Installer

1. Spark plugs.

2. Oil pan, as outlined previously.
