M
Install or Connect (Figure 39)
1. Gasket without lubrication.
• Be sure it is seated properly inside the tip of the
fitting.
• Reach into the oil cooler and push it into posi­
tion against the tank.
2. Oil cooler nuts.
H O Tighten
• Nuts to 20 N»m (15 ft. lbs.).
• Do not overtighten.
• Leak test.
• Radiator to the vehicle.
OIL COOLER REPLACEMENT

Remove or Disconnect
1. Outlet tank.
2. Nuts from the oil cooler fittings.
3. Oil cooler and gaskets from the tank.
FiiR Clean
The gasket area and dry it.
K H Install or Connect
1. Gaskets to the oil cooler.
2. Oil cooler to the tank.
3. Nuts.
H Q Tighten
• Nuts to 20 N»m (15 ft. lbs.).
4. Outlet tank.
• Test the radiator.

DRAIN COCK

CAUTION: To help avoid the danger of being
burned, do not remove the radiator cap while the
engine and radiator are still hot. Scalding fluid
and steam can be blown out under pressure if
the cap is taken off too soon. Remove the radia­
tor cap before draining the coolant so the cool­
ant is not forced out under pressure.
Plastic Drain Cock

Remove or Disconnect (Figure 22)
• Drain radiator of coolant.
1. Drain cock stem (A).
• Seal (B) will usually come out attached to stem
(A).

2. Drain cock body (C).
• Squeeze sides of body with fingers or needle-
nose pliers to disengage body locking tangs
from side tank.

Install or Connect (Figure 22)
1. Drain cock body (C).
• Be sure body is fully seated in side tank and that
locking tangs are engaged.
2. Seal (B) to stem (A).
3. Stem (A) into body (C). Turn to lock in place.
• Add proper coolant as specified in MAINTENANCE
AND LUBRICATION (SEC. OB).
• Start engine and check for leaks.
Brass Drain Cock

Remove or Disconnect (Figure 40)
• Drain radiator of coolant.
• Drain cock from threaded hole in radiator side tank.
h 4] Install or Connect (Figure 40)
• Drain cock into threaded hole in radiator side tank.
HO
Tighten
• Drain cock to 18 N«m (13 ft. lbs.).
• Add proper coolant as specified in MAINTENANCE
AND LUBRICATION (SEC. OB).
• Start engine and check for leaks.
