Remove the flame arrestor.

4.
Clean the flame arrestor with warm water and a mild detergent.
5.
Inspect the flame arrestor for holes, cracks or deterioration. Replace if necessary.
6.
Allow the flame arrestor to air dry completely before use.
7.
Clean the crankcase ventilation hose with warm water and a mild detergent. Dry with compressed air or allow to air dry
completely.
8.
Inspect the crankcase ventilation hose for cracks or deterioration. Replace if necessary.
9.
Install the flame arrestor and flame arrestor bracket. Torque the flame arrestor bracket nuts.

10. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the fitting on the flame arrestor and valve cover.
11. Install the engine cover.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve (PCV)

Inspection

IMPORTANT: You cannot clean the PCV valve. Replace the PCV valve if it is defective or sticking.

Remove the PCV valve from the port valve cover.
