Problem solving guide
Problem
White residues
which look like
powder detergent
are seen on dark
textiles after
washing.
Textiles have
particularly
greasy soiling.
The door will not
open
58
Possible cause
The detergent
contained
compounds (zeolites)
to aid water softening
which are not soluble
in water. They have
ended up on the
laundry.
– Select a programme with pre-wash. Use liquid detergent
for the pre-wash.
– In the main wash use ordinary powder detergent.
The use of heavy-duty detergent is recommended in the
main wash for very heavily soiled work clothing. Consult
detergent producers for advice.
The door is locked
after a programme
has been cancelled.
The door will not open
at the end of a wash
programme.
There is still water in
the drum and the
washer-extractor is
unable to drain.
The door handle
safety device has
disengaged.
Remedy
– Try and brush off the residues
with a soft brush once the laundry
is dry.
– Wash dark textiles using a
detergent which contains no
zeolites. Liquid detergents
usually contain no zeolites.
– For safety reasons the drum door
cannot be opened if the suds
temperature is higher than 50°C.
Wait until the washer-extractor
has cooled down.
– Press against the door handle,
switch the washer-extractor off
and then back on again. Then
pull on the door handle again.
– The drainage system may be
blocked. Clean the drainage
system as described in the next
section.
– The door handle has a safety
device to prevent damage to the
lock. Press firmly against the door
handle until you clearly hear the
safety device engage.
