MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Remove the cable from the throttle
lever.
NOTE: Slide cable in clip slot and re-
move the end of cable from clip.
Remove the carburetor cap on top of
the carburetor. Place the carburetor
cap far from carburetor body.
Install the cable luber (P/N 529 035
738) on the cable.
Insert the needle of spray can in the ca-
ble luber hole.
CAUTION Always wear eye
protection and gloves when you lu-
bricate a cable.
NOTE: Place a rag around the cable lu-
ber to prevent the lubricant splash.
Add lubricant until it runs out at carbu-
retor end of the throttle cable.
Let the cable hang during approxi-
mately 15 minutes or until no lubricant
flows out of cable.
Reinstall carburetor cap.
Reinstall and adjust the cable.
Throttle Cable Adjustment
Slide rubber protector back to expose
throttle cable adjuster.
Loosen lock nut then turn the adjuster
to obtain correct throttle lever free play.
NOTE: Measure throttle free play at
the tip of throttle lever.
Tighten lock nut and reinstall protector.

A. 1 mm to 3 mm (.039 in to .118 in)
With the transmission lever on NEU-
TRAL position, start the engine. Check
if the throttle cable is adjusted correctly
by turning handlebar fully right then
fully left. If the engine RPM increases,
readjust the throttle lever free play.

Spark Plug Removal
CAUTION Always wear safety
goggles when using pressurized air.
Unplug spark plug cable.
Unscrew spark plug one turn.
Clean spark plug and cylinder head
with pressurized air if possible.
Unscrew spark plug completely then
remove them.
