5. Check:
• Shift operation
Checking steps:
• Turn the throttle grip to the fully closed
position.
• Check the shift lever for smooth operation
by shifting the lever from neutral to forward
and reverse.
6. Adjust:
• Throttle cable joint position
Adjustment steps:
• Turn the throttle grip to the fully closed
position.
• Align the mark a on the throttle lever 1
with the mark b on the shift bracket.
• Adjust the position of the cable joint 2
until its hole aligns with the set pin.
• Install the clip 3, and then tighten the
locknut 4.
WARNING
The cable joint must be screwed in a
minimum of 8.0 mm (0.31 in).
7. Check:
• Fully closed position

Checking steps:
1 • Turn the throttle grip to the fully closed
position.
• Check that the fully closed stopper 1 con-
tacts the fully closed adjust screw 2 as
shown.
