Tiller handle steering friction

PREPARATION
1. Remove:
• Caps 1
2. Install:
• Nuts 2
Nut:
20.0 N • m
(2.04 kgf • m, 14.8 ft • lb)
INSTALLATION
1. Install:
• Collar 1
• Friction plate 2
• Washers 3
• Bolts (M8) 4
NOTE:
Do not apply lubricants such as grease to the
friction areas of the steering friction adjuster.
2. Install:
• Bolts (M6) 1
3. Adjust:
• Friction force
Adjustment steps:
• Move the friction lever 1 fully to the left
a.
• Turn the nut 2 in or out to adjust the
steering friction force.
• Move the friction lever fully to the right b
and check that the tiller handle moves
freely to the left and right. If necessary,
repeat the above steps.
4. Check:
• Steering movement
Unsmooth → Repair.
NOTE:
With the friction lever moved fully to the right,
check the tiller handle for smooth operation.
