Labeling the preset
stations
— Station Name
You can assign a name of up to ten characters
(Station Name) to a preset station. The Station
Name appears when you tune in the station.

Press BAND repeatedly until the
band you want appears.
DHC-EX880MD:
FM n MW n LW*
DHC-MD717:
FM n AM
* You cannot assign a name to an LW station.

For DHC-EX880MD:
Press TUNING MODE repeatedly
until "PRESET" appears.
For DHC-MD717:
Press PRESET.

Turn MULTI CONTROLLER until
the preset number of the station you
want to label appears.

Press MENU/NO, then turn MULTI
CONTROLLER until "Name in ?"
appears.

Press ENTER/YES.
The cursor starts flashing.

Press DISPLAY so that the desired
type of character appears.
Each time you press the button, the
display changes as follows:
A (Upper cases) n a (Lower cases)
n 0 (Numbers) n ! (Symbols)*
n (Blank space) n A n ...
* You can use the following symbols:
! " # $ % & ' ( ) * + , – . / : ; < = > ? @ _ `

Turn MULTI CONTROLLER until
the character you want appears.
The selected character flashes.
To enter a blank space, press n without
turning MULTI CONTROLLER.

Press n to enter the character.
The cursor shifts rightward and waits for
the input of the next character.
