Recording 3 CDs on
3 separate MDs
— 3CD n 3MD
You can record from CDs to MDs of the same
number (e.g., CD 1 n MD 1, CD 2 n MD 2,
CD 3 n MD 3). Be sure to insert an MD to
the same slot number as the tray containing
the CD.

Place the CDs on each disc tray.

Insert the MDs to the slots with the
same numbers as the disc trays
containing the CDs.

Press FUNCTION >/. on the
amplifier repeatedly to switch the
function to CD.

Press CD SYNC on the MD deck.

Turn SELECTOR on the MD deck
until “3CD n 3MD ?” appears.

Press ENTER/YES on the MD deck.
The CD is in pause for playback and the
MD deck stands by for recording.

Press ·∏ on the MD deck (or
MDP
on the remote).
Recording starts in order from CD 1 to 3.
The CD player and MD deck stop
automatically when the recording is
completed.
To cancel recording
Press MENU/NO on the MD deck during
steps 4 to 6.
To stop recording
Press p on the MD deck.
When recording is completed
Press § and eject the MD. “TOC Writing” flashes
and the MD Table of Contents (TOC) is updated.
While “TOC Writing” is flashing
Do not move the deck or pull out the power cord to
ensure the complete recording. The deck is currently
updating the Table of Contents (TOC).
Tips
• If you record on an unrecorded or completely
erased (see page 61) MD, the disc title assigned to
the CD (see page 30) is copied as it is to the MD
(Disc Memo Copy).
However, CD text information is not copied in
some cases.
• The disc is skipped and recording continues from
the next disc when:
– The CD or MD with the same disc number is not
loaded.
– The MD is record-protected.
