4.6.4 BLACK OVER PRINT

Black over print does not let unexpected white lines show when black letters or
lines are printed with color background. You can enable or disable this feature from
the printer driver (default: disabled).
Black over print has the following bad effects when it is enabled:
• Crispness may deteriorate because the black toner spreads out.
• More toner is consumed.
• The background color may be seen through black letters or lines.
Black Over Print Disabled
Black lines and color background are
printed as follows:
1. The color toner (for example,
magenta [B] and yellow [A] toner)
is transferred on the paper [C].
Some space [D] is left blank for
the black toner.
2. The black toner [E] is transferred
in the blank space.
An unexpected white line [F] shows if
the line position of the black toner is
not correct.
