This chapter describes how to install and remove each power supply unit (PSU) model that is used with
the BlackDiamond 8800 Series switches.
Safety
Before installing an Extreme Networks power supply, read
precautions and for additional information regarding regulatory compliance certifications.
Note
For central DC power connections, the 1200 W DC power supply is intended to be installed
only in restricted access locations (dedicated equipment rooms, equipment closets, or the
like) in accordance with Articles 110-16, 110-17, and 110-18 of the National Electric Code, ANSI/
NFPA-70. All wiring methods involving the DC input cable assembly must be performed
according to the relevant articles of the National Electrical Code.
Warning
Field operators must not attempt to open the power supply enclosure for any reason; the
power supply does not contain user-serviceable parts. In the event of failure, return the
defective power supply to Extreme Networks for repair or replacement.
Power Supply Compatibility
The BlackDiamond power supply units are intended for use in specific BlackDiamond switches.
