Verifying Configuration

Use the following procedure to check the assignments Windows
has made for your modem:
1. Click on the Start button, point to Settings , click on Control
Panel , and double-click on the System icon.
2. When the System Properties sheet appears, click on the
Device Manager tab. A list of device types appears.
3. Double-click on " Modem " for a list of modems installed in
your computer.
4. Double-click on "Multi-Tech MT5634ZPW-PCI." The Modem
Properties sheet for your particular MultiModemZPW-PCI
model appears.
5. Click on the Resources tab, and note the Conflicting Device
List; if there is a conflict between your modem and another
device in your computer, the information appears here. For
help in resolving a conflict, click on the Start button, click on
Help , and then search the Help index for the Hardware
Conflict Troubleshooter.
6. Exit the System Properties sheet.
7. In Control Panel , double-click on the Modems icon.
8. When the Modems Properties sheet appears, click on the
Diagnostics tab. A list of ports and the devices installed on
them appears.
9. Click on the COM port the Multi-Tech MT5634ZPW-PCI is
installed on, then click on the More Info button to make sure
Windows 95 can communicate with the modem. Clicking on
the More Info button causes Windows 95 to send commands
to and receive responses from the modem, and to display
information about the modem's COM port.
