• ENGINE OIL LOW ADD OIL
(engine oil low add oil)
Note: This message may not be
available on all vehicles.
Appears when the engine oil
level is low. Check the oil and
add if needed.
You may need to let the vehicle
cool down or warm up and
cycle the ignition for this
message to clear.
This message will clear itself
after ten seconds, and then will
reappear for ten seconds at the
start of each ignition cycle until
the problem has been fixed.
See "Engine Oil" in Section 4
for more information.
• ENGINE OVERHEATED IDLE
ENGINE (engine overheated
idle engine)
Appears when the coolant
temperature is too hot.
Pull over and stop the vehicle
as soon as it is safe to do so.
Let the engine idle until it is
cool.
After a while, however, if the
message does not clear or the
engine coolant temperature
light stays on, turn off the
engine and have the vehicle
serviced before you drive it
again.

Mode" in Section 5 for informa-
tion on driving to a safe place
in an emergency.
NOTICE
Continuing to drive your
vehicle with an overheated
engine can result in severe
engine damage.
If you get an overheat warning,
stop as soon as possible.
Do not increase engine speed
above normal idle.

Section 5.
