Keyless Access Transmitter Not
Detected
If your vehicle is equipped with an
ignition control knob, the keyless
access transmitter must be in the
vehicle for the ignition to work.
When the transmitter battery
is low, or if the system is not
detecting the transmitter because
the vehicle is very close to a
radio/TV tower, you may not be
able to start the vehicle.
If the keyless access transmitter is
not detected in the vehicle, the
Driver Information Center will
display ELECTRONIC KEY NOT
DETECTED (electronic key not
detected).
This message will also appear
when a cell phone charger inter-
feres with the operation of the
keyless access system. Unplug any
battery chargers when starting or
turning off the engine.
If this happens, place the
transmitter in the transmitter
pocket in the center console
storage area with the buttons
facing to the front of the vehicle.
Then, for vehicles with an
automatic transmission, place the
vehicle in P (Park) or N (Neutral),
press the brake pedal and turn the
ignition control knob to start the
vehicle.
Section 3
With a manual transmission, push
the clutch pedal to the floor and
put the transmission in neutral.
The engine won't start if the clutch
pedal is not all the way down.
If REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE
KEY (replace battery in remote
key) appears in the Driver
Information Center display, the
transmitter battery is low.
It is recommended that you
replace the transmitter battery as
soon as possible.
