Starting and Operating Instructions
Immobilizer
Your vehicle is equipped with a
passive theft deterrent system.
If your vehicle has a removable
ignition key, the ignition key has a
transponder imbedded in it. The
transponder uses a radio
frequency that matches a decoder
in your vehicle.
If your vehicle is equipped with
an ignition control knob, the
immobilizer is part of the keyless
access transmitter.
See "Immobilizer" later in this
section for more information.

■ THEFT DETERRENT
SYSTEM
Your vehicle is equipped with a

Theft Deterrent System.

The Security System Light should
turn on to indicate the theft
deterrent system is arming.
To arm the system using the
power door lock switch or the
remote keyless entry or keyless
access transmitter, do the follow-
ing:
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power
door lock switch or with the
transmitter.
The Security System Light will
shine steadily.
3. Close all the doors.
The Security System Light will
go off in about 30 seconds.
When the light turns off, the
system is armed.
