Charging System Light
The charging system light
monitors the generator and
battery charging systems.
When the ignition is on but the
engine is not running, the light will
come on as a test to show you it is
working properly, but the light will
go out when the engine starts. If it
doesn't come on with the ignition
on, you may have a problem.
If it stays on or comes on while you
are driving, there may be a
problem with this system.
Have it checked right away.
If there is a problem with the
battery charging system, a
message will be displayed. See
"Driver Information Center
Messages" later in this section.
Driving while this light is on could
drain your battery.
If you must drive a short distance
with the light on, turn off all your
accessories, such as the radio and
air conditioner.
Section 1
Engine Coolant Temperature
Light
The light should come on briefly
when you start the engine. If the
light does not come on, take your
vehicle to the dealer for service.
If it stays on or comes on while
you are driving, there may be a
problem with the cooling system.
Stop the vehicle and turn the
engine off.
