3. Be sure the belt is not twisted
and that the elastic cord is
under the belt and the guide
is on top.
Make sure the belt lies flat.
CAUTION
The shoulder belt should go
over the shoulder and across
the chest. These parts of the
body are best able to take belt
restraining forces.
Wearing a safety belt
improperly could cause serious
injury.

4. Buckle, position and release
the safety belt as you would
normally.
Make sure the shoulder por-
tion of the belt is midway over
the shoulder and across the
chest.
