RZ55 Problems
RZ55 fails system exer-
ciser test and power-up
self-test.
Possible Cause
Faulty disk drive assem-
bly. No AC power. Faulty
cabling.
TZ30 Tape Drive Problems
TZ30 tape drive green light
flashes rapidly.
TZ30 passes power-up test
but does not operate.
Cartridge release lever does
not slide.
Cartridge release level does
not lock.
Tape does not load.
The drive mechanism is
faulty or the tape car-
tridge is damaged.
No cartridge in drive or
the cartridge is not loaded.
Cartridge is in use.
Cartridge is not inserted
properly.
Suggested Solution
Check that all cables are se-
cure at both ends. Check
to see if the activity light
comes on or if the fan is
blowing (AC power is pre-
sent).
Remove the defective RZ55 ex-
pansion boxes from the sys-
tem. Call your field ser-
vice representative.
Press and release the unload
button to clear the fault. If the
condition persists, do not at-
tempt to remove the tape car-
tridge or use the tape drive.
Call your service representa-
tive.
Insert the cartridge and press
the unload button.
Wait for green light to go
on and try again. If the prob-
lem persists, do not use the
drive. Call for service.
Reinsert the cartridge. If
the problem persists, call for ser-
vice.
Press and release the unload
button. Wait for green light to go
on before sliding lever and re-
moving tape. If the light
blinks, call for service.
