The following procedure describes how to connect a modem or host computer
to the synchronous port on the rear of the system unit:
1.
Set the ON/OFF switches on all printers, expansion boxes, terminals,
and other peripherals to the OFF (0) position.
2. Set the ON/OFF switch on the system unit to the OFF (0) position.
3. Connect the 50-pin connector of the synchronous cable to the
synchronous port on the rear of the system unit. See Figure C-3.

4. Connect the 25-pin or 37 -pin connector of the synchronous cable to the
appropriate port on the host computer or modem depending on the
electrical interface used.
