3. Connect one end of each terminal or peripheral cable
to
one of the
keyed MMJ ports on the cable concentrator. You can connect up to
eight devices (terminals or peripherals) to the cable concentrator.
Use a cable coupler and additional lengths of DECconnect office cable to
extend the cable to terminals that are not close to the system unit.
If the terminal or peripheral does not have an MMJ port, connect a 25-pin
adapter (PN H8571A) to the cable. This adapter provides the necessary
connector compatibility.
C.2.1.2 Connecting a Host Computer or Modem to the Synchronous Port
The DSH32-B communications module is supplied with a synchronous
cable. The type of synchronous cable supplied should be compatible with
the communications interface you are using.
NOTE:
Make sure the cable you have is the correct one for your application.
The following cables are available for use with the DSH32-B:
Cable BC 19V-02 and RS232C adapter connector for RS232N.24
communications
Cable BC19U-02 for RS422N.36 communications
Cable BC19W-02 for RS423N.I0 communications
Another cable may be necessary if you want to connect a modem to your
system. The type of cable required is determined by the communications
interface you are using. These cables are listed in Table C-3.
