Open Balance

fu n ctio n to o lb ar to scroll through
all the availab le fu n ctio n s
W hen sew ing so ft fab rics such as
je rsey or trico t, the fab ric tends to
stretch under the presser fo o t w h ich
also stretch es the stitch being sew n .
For exam ple, the Honeycom b stitch
opens up and is too long. T h ick er
fab rics m ight cause the stitch to
o verlap , m aking it too short.
C o rrectin g w ith balance is very
sim ple.
Corrections
Stitch too long:
• touch the arro w show n on the right
(ap p ro xim ately 3)
• the num ber of steps activated w ill
be show n directly above the arro w
• the stitch w ill be shortened
• the change is n o t show n on screen
• 2 -5 steps are norm ally su fficie n t to
co rrect the stitch (m ax. 50 steps)
• sew a test and m ake ad ditional
co rrectio n s if needed
Stitch too short:
• proceed as above, using the arro w
on the left
• sew a test and m ake ad ditio nal
co rrectio n s if needed
Balance
These effe cts can be corrected w ith
the electro n ic balance so th at the
stitch fo rm atio n can be adjusted
w h e re necessary to suit the fa b ric.
There are 50 vertical steps and 20
h o rizo n tal steps.
Balance
• select any stitch
• touch b to activate balan ce; balance
screen appears
• w h en ad justing practical stitch es, a

ap pears in the cen ter of the screen

Returning to stitch screen
• afte r all co rrectio n s are m ade,
touch OK to co n firm the chang es
and return to the stitch screen
• to u ch in g reset w ill return the stitch
to the sam e co ndition as w h en the
balance fu n ctio n w as opened
• before selecting a n ew stitch , press
the extern al clr button to close
