Spool Free Mode

Prevents rig from winding up into tip and alerts you to a strike
Spool Free Spool Free Mode enables two functions—the Overwinding Prevention Function and the Strike Detection Alarm.

Overwinding Prevention Function
When free-spool fishing or engaging in other types of low-load
angling, the load varies greatly depending on whether a fish is on the
line or you are simply retrieving the rig.
Winding learning on an electric reel records the number of rotations at
a specific load, so that a large fluctuation in load causes a large error.
When a nylon or fluorocarbon line is used together with a line with
high elastic stretch, the error becomes even greater. Sometimes the rig
will get wound up into the rod tip and may damage the tip.
With Spool Free Mode ON, a program runs to prevent entanglement
in the tip, allowing you to relax and safely enjoy fishing. When this
program detects a high load on the reel when retrieving the rig, it sets
the gunwale stop position at 6m. When the detected load is light, the
gunwale stop position is set at 10% of the line length that has been
sent out (10m for a 100m line, or 6m at a minimum).
※ Whichever is activated, the numbers shown on the counter will
become slightly off from the actual meter count. This function
will turn on at a speed of 20 or higher; the rig can sometimes get
entangled in the tip when winding up with light loads at speeds
of less than 20.

Strike Detection Alarm
When the line is let out with the clutch OFF, if the line is drawn faster
than the set speed, the strike alarm will beep repeatedly for 3 seconds,
notifying you of a strike. You can also change the value of this setting.
The default setting is OFF.
※ When the motor is off, this function takes effect when the
counter display is 20m or higher.
※ To change the set speed, on the Menu Screen turn Spool Free
Mode ON and the settings screen will appear. (See next page.)
