ALTERNATOR
3. Press out the old front bearing using the special
tool (Figure 11-28, (1)) and a press.

4. Press in a new bearing using the special tool
(Figure 11-29, (1)) in the same manner and
then install the 4 bearing retainer screws.

5. Rotate and inspect the rear bearing for wear
and damage. If necessary replace the rear
bearing (Figure 11-30).

6. Remove the rear bearing cover B and remove
the bearing using a special two-jaw puller tool
(Figure 11-31, (1)). NOTICE: Avoid damaging
the fan during bearing removal.

7. Remove the rear bearing cover A and inspect
and replace if necessary.
