Timing Belt
NOTICE: NEVER bend, twist or turn the timing belt
inside out. NEVER contaminate the timing belt with
oil, water or steam (Figure 5-165).

Inspect the belt for the following conditions, if any of
the following conditions are present or the belt is
damaged, replace the timing belt.
• Breaking or parting at the joints (Figure 5-166).
• Check the timing belt cover and gasket for
damage and for correct installation.
