3.3 Initial AVPP Configuration

This process covers the basic initial configuration of the AVPP. However it is recommended that as much of the AVPP
configuration as possible is done at that stage.
1.
Using a DB-9 female, null-modem cable, connect the AVPP to the serial port of a terminal or PC.
2.
Run a terminal emulation program (such as HyperTerminal) or use a VT-100 terminal with the following
configuration:
·
Bits per second: 9600
·
Data bits: 8
·
Parity: None
·
Stop bits: 1
·
Flow control: None
3.
To display the AVPP login screen, press Enter.
4.
Enter the default login: admin and default password: admin. These are case sensitive. The NetLink SVP-II System
menu is displayed.
5.
Use the cursor keys to select Network Configuration and press Enter.
6.
Select IP Address and press Enter. Enter the static IP address for the AVPP unit.
7.
Select Subnet Mask and press Enter. Enter the subnet mask that matches the static IP address.
8.
Select Default Gateway and press Enter. Enter the IP address of the default gateway for the subnet on which the
AVPP is located.
9.
Changing the IP address settings automatically puts the AVPP into Maintenance Lock. The AVPP must be reset in
order to set the configuration options.
10. Press Esc. You will be prompted to reset the AVPP. At the reset prompt, press Y (Yes).
11. The AVPP will restart. Following the restart, the AVPP menus can be accessed to complete configuration to match the
wireless network.
