Installing an Alkaline Battery

This procedure is not approved for, and should not be performed
in, potentially hazardous environments.
To insert a 9-Volt alkaline battery in the terminal battery compartment:
1. Insert the battery into the alkaline battery adapter as shown in Figure 6-4. Verify that
the positive (+) and negative (-) signs on the battery are on the same side as the
positive and negative signs on the picture of the battery inside the adapter.
2. Hold the adapter so the solid plastic side is down and the battery is visible on the top,
as shown in Figure 6-5. Slide the adapter into the battery compartment with the
rounded (large) side toward the back of the terminal.
3. Push firmly on the side of the battery nearest the back of the terminal until the
battery snaps into the contacts.
