KLN 94 Pilot's Guide
Appendix B Message Page Messages
Redundant WPTs In FPL
Edit Enroute WPTs
As Necessary — This message appears after the pilot inserts an
approach, DP, or STAR in the flight plan and the KLN 94 determines that
some waypoints that were in the flight plan are no longer needed.
Examine the active flight plan and remove those waypoints that occur both
in the en route and the approach/DP/STAR sections of the flight plan.
Search the Sky — The message appears when the GPS receiver is
unable to locate satellites in the normal startup mode. It may take an
extended period of time (15-20 minutes) to reach navigation capability.
Timer Expired — This message appears when the alarm time on the
AUX 10 page is reached.
User Database Lost — This message appears when the KLN 94 deter-
mines that the internal memory backup battery is dead or that some other
internal failure has occurred which has caused user-entered waypoints,
flight plans, and waypoint remarks to be lost.
User Data Lost — This message appears when the KLN 94 determines
that the internal memory backup battery is dead or that some other inter-
nal failure has occurred which has caused user data such as page setups
to be lost.
Using Emergency
Battery — This message appears when an emergency back-up battery is
installed and it is supplying power to the KLN 94.
Vnv Alert — (Vertical Navigation Alert) This message appears when a
VNAV operation has been programmed on the ALT 2 page and the esti-
mated time to start the climb or descent is approximately 90 seconds.
This message serves as notification to view VNAV status so that the
VNAV operation may be executed. VNAV status can be displayed on the
NAV 1, NAV 4, and ALT pages.
WPT Annunciator Fail — This message appears when there is a failure
of the KLN 94 external WPT annunciator drive circuitry. To determine if
waypoint alerting is being given you will need to look at the KLN 94 dis-
play because the annunciator will not be working if this message has been
given. Service the KLN 94 as soon as possible.
WPT _____ Deleted — This message appears when a waypoint used in
a flight plan, or the active waypoint, no longer exists as a result of updat-
ing the database. The blank space is filled in with the waypoint identifier.
The waypoint is deleted from flight plans in which it was used.
