KLN 94 Pilot's Guide
13. Passing TYI the KLN 94 will sequence to CF22 which is depicted on
the U.S. Government chart as 4 NM from TYI. The CF22 designation
is shown on the Jeppesen chart.
14. After passing CF22 the KLN 94 will sequence to CRAKO the FAF.
15. When the aircraft is 2 NM from CRAKO, the KLN 94 will transition to
the approach active mode. Since the DME arc procedure is flown
entirely in the LEG mode the only possible problem would be if the
integrity monitoring did not check out.
16. Passing CRAKO the KLN 94 sequences to MA22, the MAP.
If a missed approach is needed use the following steps:
17. The KLN 94 will not automatically sequence past the MAP. After
passing the MAP press the D button to bring up the Direct To page
with BELGA already entered. Press F to activate BELGA.
18. Press H to put the KLN 94 into the OBS mode and select 227° on
the external Nav indicator.
19. After crossing BELGA, select 47° on the external Nav indicator and
enter the holding pattern in the conventional manner.
NOTE: If ATC gives you instructions for a missed approach that is differ-
ent from the published missed approach procedure, it is always possible
for you to select a different direct to waypoint than the default direct to
waypoint.

6.2.12. ILS AND OTHER NON-APPROVED APPROACHES

The KLN 94 may be used to provide situational awareness for approach-
es, such as an ILS, not approved for GPS. Using the map with the
approach loaded can provide the same excellent orientation that it pro-
vides for an approved approach. Operation of the approach is similar to
approved GPS non-precision approaches with the following differences:
• On the APT 8 page showing
the list of approaches, remem-
ber
that
approaches do not have the
letters
approach name. In figure 6-
51, the ILS 01L and the VOR
01L approaches are not
approved for GPS.
