Performing Polling Reception
When specifying polling transmission, the document as prepared by the
recipient can be controlled by this end, as can the time of transmission. When
using polling to receive a large number of documents, it is possible to specify
reception late at night, in order to save on telecommunications bills.

Set the original document.

Specify the transmission settings, such as the document type and den-
sity.

In the SUB, type in the F-code for the bulletin board where the docu-
ment is to be registered.
The bulletin boards must be defined in advance.Bulletin boards can
be used only when the destination incorporates the F-code feature.
Refer to "Setting up Bulletin Boards" on page 10-23.

In the SID/PWD, type in the password (F-code password) for the bulle-
tin board where the document is to be registered.

Dial the telephone number.

Press the transmission button (Start button).
The document is registered on the bulletin board.
Note
For details on retrieving documents from a bulletin board, refer to "Re-
trieving Bulletin Board Documents" on page 8-4.
For details on deleting registered documents, refer to "Checking trans-
mission results (Job List)" on page 3-34.
If a document is already registered on the specified bulletin board, it is
replaced with the sent document.
A document cannot be registered from a fax machine that cannot use F-
code functions. For details on the functions available on the fax machine,
refer to its instruction manual.
In order to register a document on a bulletin board from another fax ma-
chine, the F-code and F-code password specified for the bulletin board
must be specified. If the specified F-code and F-code password does not
match, the document cannot be registered on the bulletin board.
