Managing Windows Network Settings

You can also use SMB to print over the network. SMB is not the
recommended method for printing over the network because it is slower
than using the included LPR utility.

Configuring the Printer for SMB Printing

To set up the printer for SMB printing, select NetBIOS Settings from
the Network Configuration list on the Web management page.
In the NetBIOS page, specify an IP address of the printer, then select
NetBIOS Settings.

Description
Enables or disables SMB. The default is Enable.
Sets the name the printer will use on the Windows
network. The default is SMB_PR1. You may use a
name up to 8 characters in length.
Sets the print server name that the printer will have
on the network. The default is the IP address of the
printer. Use up to 12 uppercase letters.
Sets a Windows domain name, or a workgroup name
using uppercase letters.
