Apple Macintosh
You can use AppleTalk for printing from a Macintosh.
Print Service
You can use the chooser to add the printer to your host.
Management Service
Using a Web browser, you can set the network settings of this printer and
reference the printer state. (Use TCP/IP.)
UNIX/Linux
The printer uses the LPR and FTP protocols under UNIX and Linux.
You can also use the Port 9100 or Port 2501 as a TCP/IP print port.
Print Services
LPR/LPD
You can perform printing by using LPR from a UNIX client. By default
LPD is turned off; before you can print using LPD, you must use the
onboard management utilities to enable it.
FTP/FTPD
You can perform printing by transferring a PostScript file with the put
command. The default setting for the on-board FTP server specifies only
one concurrent FTP session — for practical purposes, you should
increase the number of connections allowed. Before you can print using
FTP, you must use the on-board management utilities to enable it.
Port 9100
You can perform printing by using port 9100. The printer supports only
serial connections to port 9100.
Port 2501
You can perform printing by using port 2501. This printer supports serial
connections to port 2501.
Management Services
HTTP
Using a Web browser, you can configure the network settings of this
printer and check the printer state.
SNMP
The printer supports SNMP. You can access the printer from a standard
SNMP management device.
