You can publish a single cube, a cube group, or all cubes in a model in one publish
operation. To organize cubes efficiently, publish them so that hierarchies are
represented in IBM Cognos Connection.
For time-based cubes, the parent and all child cubes are published, but a package
is created for the parent cube only. This parent includes references to the child
cubes.
You can publish Cognos Transformer PowerCubes using the following methods:
v from within Cognos Transformer using
– the Publish PowerCube wizard ("Publishing a PowerCube Using the
Wizard")
– settings stored in the model ("Publishing a PowerCube Using Settings Stored
in the Model" on page 165)
– an .xml publish specification
Use this method to publish a single cube ("Creating a Publish Specification to
Publish One PowerCube" on page 166), or all cubes in the model ("Creating a
Publish Specification to Publish All PowerCubes in the Model" on page 167).
v from within IBM Cognos Connection
Use IBM Cognos Connection to deploy single cubes. For more information, see
the IBM Cognos Administration and Security Guide
v from Framework Manager
Use Framework Manager to publish multiple PowerCubes in a single package or
mix your PowerCube data source with other data sources, such as a relational
namespace. For more information, see the IBM Cognos Framework Manager User
Guide.
v from the command line
For more information, see Appendix A, "Command Line Options," on page 209.
Tip: You can disable cube publishing on the Processing tab of the PowerCube
property sheet. If you have already published a PowerCube and you want to
replace it with a new version, you can copy and activate the cube. For more
information, see "Copying and Activating a Newer Version of a Published
PowerCube" on page 187.
