Paper Discharging Process
In the paper discharging process, the paper, with the image
transferred, is separated from the transfer drum by applying an AC
charge to the paper. See
page 1-14
for paper discharge location.
The AC charger unit, consisting of a case and charger wire, has high
alternating voltage (VAC) injected into it.
During the transfer process, paper adheres to the transfer drum. The
paper is then neutralized (discharged) by injecting the alternating
voltage generated by the discharger. Paper is then separated from
the transfer drum and moves into the fusing process.
